We had a great day to release the salmon on Wednesday. The weather was just right for a hike. The children were so careful with their bags of fish, which they were responsible for carrying all the way to the creek. Most of the fish were given names by their guardians! After releasing the salmon, we went to a local park for a short break, then back to school. Thank you to the parents who were able to accompany us. We really appreciated your help!
We had a great presentation at our "Earth Day Assembly" on how even one person can make a difference to our environment. On Monday, we saw a play, put on by the Green Thumb Theatre group. Among other things, the play was about individual differences, learning from others, acceptance, and friendship. The students really enjoyed it and I was pleased that they understood the messages the actors were presenting.
Kilometre Club is off to a great start. Thank you also to those parents who are able to help or run with the children. Congratulations to Matthew, Caleb, Olivia and Ty for earning their 10 Km. ribbons. The rest of the students are very close to earning theirs as well.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. T
