Hi Everyone,
I apologize for not keeping up with the blog lately. I will try to do better!
Spring is finally arriving and we have been planting. Our potato plants are huge! Today we planted scarlet runner beans and we will be putting some radish seeds in the school garden. In Science we are learning about the needs of living things and we will also be studying seeds and plants. We have started a Measurement unit in math so there will be lots of hands on learning as we measure length, area, perimeter and weigh items, all using non standard units of measurement. Soon we will be writing a creative story which we will 'publish' as a book. In May we will start our units on 'Canadian Symbols' and 'Friendship'. Before we know it, June will be here.
The children have been doing an awesome job in Kilometre club. We run Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, weather permitting. If you are able, come out and join us for some exercise and fun. We are hoping to show some school spirit by wearing blue and yellow for our run next Friday.
Also, our class won the primary pizza party by raising the most money during the Spellathon fund raiser! Way to go!!! We are planning on having the lunch early in May (a notice will be sent home so you won't have to pack a lunch that day).
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. T
