Potato Harvesting

Thank you to Maryann for helping us harvest our potato plants and for taking the fabulous pictures of this event.  The children REALLY enjoyed digging in the dirt, finding potatoes, washing potatoes, counting potatoes, and finally...eating potatoes.  Some of them declared that it was, "the best day of Grade One".  (So much for all those wonderful lessons on reading, writing and arithmetic!)  Thank you again, Maryann for making the whole process go smoothly.

Also, Kilometre Club has ended.  The children did a great job, with many of them setting and reaching personal goals.  Congratulations to them all!

I think we had one sunny lunch hour this month, so we were able to eat our lunches outside.  That was a nice change for the students and they seemed to enjoy it.

Some of the other pictures are of our "Reader's Theatre" performances.  (And of the children eating their potatoes).

I have enjoyed getting to know your children this year.  They are all hard workers, kind and caring toward their classmates, and have an abundance of enthusiasm and energy.  Enjoy the summer break.

Sincerely,
Mrs T
